African American Female Investors, An Untapped Market
Ladies, it's old news that we as black women have risen to become what is considered affluent among our community. According to the 2005 African American Active Investor Study, an increasing number of black investors are actually female, young, and single when compared to other prosperous Americans. Did you also know that an astonishing 58% of affluent African Americans are actually women? What does that tell you? It means we have the income to be considered real players in an investors market. Part of that investment strategy should be aimed at investing in real estate. That is what all of the "big boys" are doing, and there is no reason why we do not get in the game for ourselves. People ask me all the time if I am invested in the stock market and what funds I recommend. My answer is always the same. I honestly do not understand the stock market and how it all works, and quite frankly all the risk involved scares me. I do have a few simple annuity funds that guarantee I don't lose any money, but anything that poses a risk to my money sends me running like a scared jack rabbit. Instead I have found that real estate investing is much more comprehensible and it puts me in the driver seat, unlike the stock market which leaves you open to all types of economic variables beyond your control. So ladies, I urge you today, learn how to invest in real estate, a business venture that you can do without using money or worrying about less than stellar credit. The end result is an empire worth millions you can build for yourself and your families.
